At least since they have existed, they have democratized video game development. However, there is life beyond these development engines, a space and place for experimentation and learning that especially values efficiency, simplicity and understanding the operation of video games from a purer perspective, with less opulence and features that promise us to create games practically without having to think. We are talking about learning to program starting from the fundamental principles of the architecture itself, without having to go through the path of an engineer. This philosophy is not to the taste of any mentality, but it can feed the interest of those who want to contemplate and learn the beauty of programming video games while having absolute control of their stakeholders. This type of approach can appeal to the most neophyte of video game development and at the same time to the most expert and that is why we are going to talk at length this episode about raylib, the development library based on C creda for students who are starting out and to create advanced tools in our projects. Beyond the tool itself, there is a way to create and program, in an optimal, lightweight and long-lasting way, multiplatform and open source.<br \/>\nRaylib is an open source library for making video games developed entirely in C. However, there are bindings that allow us to work with +60 programming languages. These include C#, Java, Rust, Dart, Go, Python, among others. Within the features of raylib we can create 2D and 3D graphics. It supports OpenGL-accelerated graphics. It offers simple physics simulation, such as collisions between objects, management of user input, such as keyboard, mouse or gamepad. It also offers support for multiple architectures and OS: Window, Linux, Mac, Android, Raspberry Pi, HTML5, Oculus Rift CV1. Some of its strengths of raylib is its simplicity of use, compared to other much heavier solutions, it is not necessary to configure a compiler and learn about linkers among other things that could make programming games based on C or C++ usually cause a slower and more expensive learning curve. During ten years in development, raylib has received numerous accolades, including prestigious awards such as 2 Google Open Source Peer Bonus awards, 1 Epic Mega Grant from Epic Games and nominated for Best Video Game Engine in Pocket Gamer’s Mobile Game awards category. In order to understand the motivation and objectives of this incredible project we have Ram\u00f3n with us who will help us understand how his professional career has been and what he has taken to this moment. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"rs_blank_template":"","rs_page_bg_color":"","slide_template_v7":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[707],"tags":[712],"post_folder":[545],"class_list":["post-34549","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-3rd-season-of-the-podcast","tag-podcast-en"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34549","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=34549"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34549\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":34586,"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34549\/revisions\/34586"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=34549"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=34549"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=34549"},{"taxonomy":"post_folder","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.levelup-gamedevhub.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/post_folder?post=34549"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
