Last Thursday, July 18, the Sala Pau Gil of the Modernist Site of the Hospital de Sant Pau was the scene of Passem Pantalla 2024<\/a><\/strong>, an important event for the video game industry in Catalonia<\/strong>. Organised within the framework of the Taula del Videojoc<\/a> <\/strong>by the Directorate General for Innovation and Digital Culture<\/a><\/strong>, led by Marisol L\u00f3pez<\/strong> from the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the meeting brought together professionals from the sector and authorities. The event was presented by Patrick Urbano, director, screenwriter and host of the video podcast on the world of video games “Tres Vides”<\/a> by 3cat, and was attended by Level Up (Game Dev Hub) as one of the members of the Taula del Videojoc<\/strong>. Likewise, the Minister of Culture, Nat\u00e0lia Garriga<\/strong>, together with Marisol L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, highlighted the importance of the event to celebrate and strengthen the Catalan video game ecosystem<\/strong>. <\/p>\n La Taula del Videojoc is a meeting place between the video game sector and the Generalitat de Catalunya.<\/strong> This initiative works on various actions to consolidate the current ecosystem, attract talent and promote the presence of professional women, improve training, promote internationalization and offer tools for better financing of the sector.<\/p>\n One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the “Llibre Blanc del Videojoc a Catalunya 2023<\/strong><\/a>“. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of the sector, highlighting data and analysis that will guide future strategies and decisions. <\/p>\n The work plan for next year was also explained, with concrete examples of the actions that the Taula del Videojoc will develop. These initiatives seek not only to strengthen the sector, but also to increase its cultural and social impact in Catalonia. <\/p>\n The event was attended by video game content creator Susana P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, better known as Simmer Valenciana<\/a>, who provided her perspective on the impact of video games on the community. In addition, there was an interesting discussion with the participation of Conrad Roset<\/strong>, Artistic Director of the video game Gris<\/strong><\/a> and CEO of Nomada Studio<\/strong><\/a>, recently awarded the National Culture Award<\/a><\/strong>, and Xavi Carrillo<\/strong>, CEO and founder of the Digital Legends<\/strong><\/a> studio, who received the Muncunill Award for Honorary Innovation 2024 from the Terrassa City Council<\/a>. Both shared their experiences and visions about the video game industry and its evolution. <\/p>\n The event underlined the growing cultural and social impact of video games in Catalonia. Video games are not only a source of entertainment, but also an educational tool and an economic engine.
