The Pet Squad arrives on Kickstarter: A project born in Level Up

At Level Up, we are always proud to see our alumni take their projects to the next level. Today we want to celebrate the launch of the Kickstarter campaign of The Pet Squad, a strategy and puzzle video game developed by Manuel Otero, alumni of our Advanced Programming Bootcamp with Unreal Engine.

What is The Pet Squad?

The Pet Squad is a unique experience: a world full of challenges, an agency with a mission and, above all, an adventure in a dystopian future that promises fun from the first minute.

In this title, players will take on the role of operators of The Pet Squad S.L.U., an unconventional security agency tasked with solving mysterious crimes in and around Xabarín City . But this will not be an easy task. With a combination of strategy and puzzle-solving, players will need to train pets, guide them with precision, and protect them from external dangers… or even of themselves.

In addition to managing your squad, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art technology, such as the ability to teleport objects and slow down time, key tools for overcoming obstacles and making strategic decisions at critical moments.

A vibrant world full of personality

The universe of The Pet Squad is full of memorable characters, such as Gina Serpentón, the director of the agency; Carl, a kind-hearted animan (evolved animal); and Pincho, the charismatic multitasking hedgehog in charge of the Xabarín City delegation.

From solving a mysterious museum robbery to rescuing missing animals, each mission will require players to use their wits to choose the best combination of pets and tools.

• Do you need to cross long distances? Use a chicken that you can glide on.
• Too many enemies? Some goats will know how to face them.
• A target on top of a cliff? A cat skilled in climbing will be the key.

But beware, your pets don’t always make the best choices! You should guide them well so that they do not end up in trouble.

A dream that was born at Level Up

Manuel started this project as a way to practice and improve his skills with Unreal Engine in our bootcamp. After years of learning and dedication, the time has come to take it to the next level. Its Kickstarter campaign is key to the future of The Pet Squad, with the aim of professionalizing development and creating its video game.
